Booba: Free Crochet Pattern

This design came from an old toy that had speakers in it's antenea. I call him Boo. He is a little alien who is very curious, and sometimes causes trouble. He is so cute though, that he normally gets out of it quickly! I have the completed Boo for sale in my Etsy shop at http://www.menwy74.etsy.com along with many other cute creatures.

Materials List:

size F hook

Light worsted weight yarn hot pink, yellow, and small amount of black
(I used caron simply soft brights and red heart soft)
small piece of plastic canvas for eyes
polyester fiberfill
tapesrty needle
stitch marker, or bobby pin
white felt
hot glue

Finished Size:
Boo is approximately 7" tall

Gauge:
gauge is not inportant for Boo

Notes:
stitches used: single crochet (sc), increase (inc), decrese (dec), slip stitch (sl st), and magic ring
the number at the end of the round is the total stitches for that round
most of this is done in continuous rounds, so mark your first stitch and move the marker up as you go. I find it easier to use a bobby pin for my stitch marker, but anything will work, including a scrap piece of yarn. I have also used the magic ring on this pattern, but if you prefer, you can use a ch 2 then sc the specified number of stitches in the second ch from hook ( the 1st ch)

The eyes are made from plastic canvas, the count doesn't really matter, as long as you can get your tapestry needle through the holes! I have writen a guide for them, but play around a bit and try giving him different expressions. Have fun with the eyes! They are, after all, the windows to the soul., :)

Eyes:

cut 2 pieces of plastic canvas aprroximately the size of a nickel. Using black yarn, embroider the eyes so that no plastic canvas is showing. you can use whatever type of stitch you want on this, but I used a slanted straight stitch. Then using pink yarn, go around the outside of the eyes with a whipstitch. This takes a bit of patience because it is a little harder getting the yarn and needle to go throught the canvas.

Finishing:

Sew body to head, going around twice to make sure his head doesn't flop around. Sew arms to side of body, using photo as a guide. Sew feet to bottom of body, using photo as a guide. Sew antenae to top of head. Cut a piece of white felt, about the size of a quarter, (you can play around on this part depending on the size of the finished eyes) Glue the felt to Boo's head, and glue the eyes on top of the felt. Using black yarn, embroider Boo's mouth..... and you have your very own Boo!   Enjoy!

*Please note, this is my original pattern, and may not be reposted.. Please do not sell the pattern, or the finished Boo, and do not claim it as your own. Thank you :) *

thread yarn on tapestry needle and sew legs to the bottom of the body to where they are almost touching.
sew heart to middle of tummy area.
sew arms to side of body, then stitch them to each side of heart.
attatch a keyfob through several stitches at the top of the body, if desired.

And that's the I Love You Dude! Hopefully there will be more free patterns to come! :)

*This is my original design. Please do not repost or sell this pattern, or the finished Dude.

Kirby

So I have been wondering about Kirby. I have tried to shade his mouth to make him more dimensional, but am not too sure if I like it. So if anyone has an opinion on weather to keep it shaded, or leave it plain, please let me know!
I opened a new Etsy store. I am designing my own patterns for little keychain amigurumi characters. So far it is more successful than the clothing store, which makes me happy cuz these are my own patterns! Yay! My husband and I are video game fans, and my new patterns reflect this. I have a Mario doll that I have made, a bombbomb, a Kirby, and then a few others that are just cute! they are all between 3 and 5" tall and are made into keychains. I am doing more everyday, and really enjoy making them. I have been crocheting for years now, but never actually wrote down a pattern, so this is really exciting for me. If you're interested, take a look, and any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks! http://www.menwy74.etsy.com/

I have been following Wolfdreamer, off the hook, and she has some great Pokemon patterns. I have already made the Phsyduck and the Voltorb. Her patterns are very well written, and I have found no mistakes yet, which is refreshing from an online pattern. So if you crochet, and like Pokemon, you should check her out!

Hi everyone! I am new to the group, and just wanted to introduce myself. I am Menwy, for all internet purposes! I live in Thornton, my husband and I moved up here from Colorado Springs in August. I am still getting myself used to everything up here, and am not overly familiar with anything yet. I am a mother of three wonderful young adults, Jeremy, my oldest is 15. Shawna is 13, and my youngest, Jesse, is 10. I am kinda a home body, I love to crochet, sew and make hemp jewelry. I can also bead and embroider.I have two dogs, well I have one, and my husband has one! Mine is a siberian husky who is a male named Athos (three musketeers) and my husbands is a mini daushund named Lady, quite a unique pair! I am 5'4" and my husband is 5'11", so it is quite comical to see us walking our repectives dogs! Looks a little topsy-turvy! Well, that is enough about me right now, I would love to hear from others in the group, so please feel free to drop me a line! Thanks!
